PROCOAL Review: Can black charcoal really whiten your teeth?

The lovely people at PROCOAL London very kindly sent me a 60ml pot of their very popular Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder to try out.  I was delighted, as due to pregnancy, I can’t have any whitening treatments at the dentist right now.

On receiving the product I was amazed at just how black it is.  How on earth can something so black actually whiten your teeth?

It is recommended that you use a separate toothbrush for this product and it is evident why on first attempt.  It is also recommended that you use this product in the shower.  I also now understand why.  The charcoal itself is so fine and powdery that any spillages will cause a real mess to clean up if it makes contact with water.  If you try using this at the bathroom sink, a simple rinse of your mouth will cause black water particles to splatter everywhere.

The instructions are that you brush your teeth with your normal toothpaste.  Then in the shower, using a separate toothbrush, brush again with PROCOAL.  Wet your toothbrush then dip the ends of the bristles into your pot of PROCOAL and then brush for a few minutes.  Make sure to rinse and keep brushing until the water runs clear from your toothbrush.  If you don’t do this you will see little black spots of charcoal around your teeth and gums.  This stuff gets everywhere!

I was quite disappointed after my first brush with PROCOAL as I didn’t achieve instantly gleaming white teeth.  However, my teeth did feel amazingly clean so I stuck with it.  On my third day of using PROCOAL I noticed a great difference.  Gone were the off-white stains from tea and coffee drinking that usually only my dentist can remove.  Amazed I raved about this to my fiancé and now he is using the product daily and is utterly impressed.  He has OCD so this is a big thing for him.  Gleaming white gnashers all round!

I did stop using PROCOAL for a few days, just to figure out what the difference to my teeth would be.  Your teeth will gradually return to their original state if you stop using the product.  It obviously has magical properties.  I, however, am a convert.

PROCOAL is 100% natural and vegan with no additives, preservatives or abrasives and a 60ml pot should last 2 to 3 months.  Or a bit less if your other half decides to share it.  It is also on special offer just now – reduced from £19.99 to £9.99. Or you can buy 2 for just £15.99 today by using “BUY2” discount code at the checkout.  Grab yours quickly if you like the sound of it.
